Composting is Coming to Maidstone!

Are you interested in learning more about composting?  Have questions you would like answered before you take the plunge? Have given it a try, but faced problems you weren’t sure how to solve?  Northeast Kingdom Waste Management District (NEKWMD) has just what you need!

Corey Raynor, Outreach Coordinator at NEKWMD, is coming to our town with a great presentation, including:

*Getting started: what type of system to choose and where to place it;

*How to maintain the pile once it has been started.  What to include in your food scraps and what to avoid. Adding the right amendments to the pile and what to do if it starts smelling bad;

*How to use your compost in your garden;

*Winter maintenance, pest control and troubleshooting will be covered, along with plenty of time for questions.

       We expect this session to last about 90 minutes.
